The Desert Sun Story

The first Desert Sun Tanning Salon was opened in 2000 in Kent, Washington.
Founded on the simple principles of quality locations, state-of-the-art equipment and exemplary customer service the company quickly grew from one location to over 50 locations throughout the Pacific Northwest by the end of 2006. Since then, the Desert Sun brand has grown to over 100 locations in Washington, Oregon and California.

THE HOTTEST INDUSTRY UNDER THE SUN.
Vanity is here to stay. It started with the Baby Boomers, but today members of virtually every generation are consumed by looking their best. With over 175
million Americans (more than 60% of the population) now falling between 18 and 64, this passion for personal appearance has led to skyrocketing growth in the tanning salon industry.

According to industry estimates for the United States, as many as 30 million people tan indoors each year in more than 30,000 locations. What was once considered a passing fad is now a natural part of our daily desire to look good and feel our best. Tanning has become an acceptable form of self-improvement, whatever the season. Given Americans pursuit of physical beauty, it's not surprising that in the last 15 years, annual sales for the tanning industry are estimated to have grown from $900 million to over $5 billion and there is no sign of letting up.*

GIVING THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT
Indoor tanning makes it possible for anyone to achieve a golden glow, even when gloomy weather and hectic schedules prevent them from enjoying the sun. As the industry grows, so does awareness of the many positive benefits that come from tanning. Unlike sunbathing, Desert Sun offers its clients a controlled environment, a knowledgeable staff and a monitored experience in which tanning sessions are adapted to the skin type and needs of each customer. We are 100% committed to helping customers look their very best without undermining their skin's long-term well-being.
